Vietnam identified as Brazil’s priority partner in Asia

Vice President and Minister of Development, Industry, Trade and Services of Brazil Geraldo Alckmin has confirmed that Vietnam is Brazil’s priority partner in Asia. During a working session with Vietnamese Ambassador to Brazil Bui Van Nghi in Brasilia on June 19, Alckmin expressed admiration for Vietnam's growth rate and international economic integration, as well as its involvement in 16 free trade agreements. He also proposed establishing a direct route linking Brazil and Vietnam to promote tourism and trade exchange with Southeast Asia. Meanwhile, Ambassador Nghi emphasized the strong economic and trade cooperation between Vietnam and Brazil, with trade between the two countries reaching 7.11 billion USD. Vietnam's exports to Brazil in the first five months of this year reached 1.14 billion USD, with key export items including phones and components, vehicles and spare parts, and computers and electronic products. Nghi also praised Brazil's aviation technology, including Embraer's narrow-body aircraft, as suitable to the needs of Vietnam's air transport and tourism development.
