High-ranking European officials have been meeting with a top foreign policy adviser to Donald Trump during the ongoing NATO summit in Washington. Keith Kellogg, a retired lieutenant general who served as the chief of staff to Trump's National Security Council, has been in regular contact with Trump and has met with several European officials, including foreign ministers. European officials are seeking information about Trump's foreign policy in the event of his reelection, particularly regarding the war in Ukraine and America's relationship with NATO. Trump's recent boost in odds following a disastrous debate performance by Biden has heightened the interest of European diplomats. Kellogg's informal discussion with Ukrainian Parliament Speaker Ruslan Stefanchuk has raised questions about a plan presented to Trump to end the Ukraine war. Additionally, North Macedonian Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski met with Richard Grenell, a former acting director of National Intelligence under Trump. European delegations have also approached other former Trump foreign policy officials for meetings during the NATO summit.
