American agriculture has continued to thrive, with total U.S. agricultural exports reaching $174.9 billion in 2023. The USDA's Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) has played a crucial role in the success of American farmers, ranchers, and agribusiness owners abroad. The Biden-Harris administration and USDA are committed to ensuring full and fair access to global markets for U.S. agriculture, with trade wins in 2023 opening up potential markets worth nearly $6.4 billion. FAS also hosted trade missions and organized food pavilions and exhibits, resulting in significant projected sales. In October 2023, USDA launched the Regional Agricultural Promotion Program (RAPP) to diversify into new markets and address global food insecurity. Looking ahead to 2024, the focus is on setting even higher goals to bring more U.S. products to all parts of the world.
