Former National Security Adviser to Donald Trump, Robert O'Brien, has advised the former president to resume nuclear weapons testing for the first time in decades. O'Brien also called for a more aggressive foreign policy toward China, including deploying the entire U.S. Marine Corps to the Pacific and imposing 60% tariffs on Chinese goods. The Biden administration, however, does not believe expanding the U.S. nuclear stockpile is in the best interest of U.S. foreign policy and is focused on modernizing the U.S. nuclear arsenal and pursuing arms control agreements with Russia, China, and other nations. O'Brien's suggestions have sparked controversy and debate among experts and officials.
