Putin and Xi Jinping have celebrated the stability of the China-Russia partnership at the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit in Kazakhstan. The two leaders commended the organization's expanding membership and portrayed the China-Russia relationship as a stabilizing force in chaotic times. They emphasized the importance of their comprehensive partnership and strategic cooperation, especially in the face of pressure from the West over their regional policies. The meeting also included discussions with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Belarus's President Alexander Lukashenko, as well as the formal inclusion of Belarus in the SCO. Despite the organization's significant security differences between its members, the SCO has been seen as a platform for non-Western countries to come together.
