PM Glavchev: Bulgaria's Accession to OECD Is a Top Foreign Policy Priority
During the OECD Ministerial Council Meeting 2024 in Paris, Caretaker Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Dimitar Glavchev said that the process of Bulgaria's accession to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) helps the country bring national policies into line with the highest global standards.

During the OECD Ministerial Council Meeting in Paris, Bulgaria's caretaker Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Dimitar Glavchev emphasized the importance of Bulgaria's accession to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). Glavchev stated that this process will help align the country's national policies with global standards and will allow Bulgaria to spread the best practices and policies of the OECD in South East Europe. He also highlighted that Bulgaria's accession to the OECD is a top foreign policy priority, along with the country's accession to the Eurozone and full membership in the Schengen area. Glavchev emphasized the importance of preparing for fair, transparent, and free elections, and reiterated Bulgaria's commitment to Euro-Atlantic values. Additionally, he mentioned the importance of cooperation to address global challenges and expressed support for Ukraine in its conflict with Russia.
