Zooniverse, a partner of NASA, has been recognized as a winner in the White House's Year of Open Science Recognition Challenge. The White House Office of Science & Technology Policy designated 2023 as the year of Open Science and invited innovators to submit stories of how they've advanced equitable open science. Zooniverse, which has engaged over 2.7 million people since 2007, was selected as one of the "Champions of Open Science." The platform hosts various NASA Citizen Science projects, including Cloudspotting on Mars, Dark Energy Explorers, and Floating Forests. Scientists have praised Zooniverse participants for their vital role in helping map the universe.
