MACC, TNB cooperation against bitcoin activities saves RM2 billion - Azam
KUALA LUMPUR - The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) and Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) have successfully saved RM2 billion in revenue through their cooperation in operations against bitcoin mining activities. MACC chief commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki stated that the crackdown on bitcoin mining operations was made possible through the joint efforts of the two organizations. The MACC's involvement has been crucial in preventing high-value losses, with the agency having seized assets and charged individuals involved in electricity theft due to bitcoin mining. The success of the operations demonstrates the importance of collaboration between large agencies in curbing criminal activities that pose a threat to government revenue.
