German telecom company Deutsche Telekom is planning to start mining Bitcoin, according to an executive at its subsidiary Telekom MMS. The company's head of web3 Infrastructure and solutions, Dirk Röder, hinted at the plans during a talk at the BTC Prague conference. Meanwhile, Chinese telecom group Coolpad has revealed plans to invest $13.6 million in Bitcoin mining equipment to increase its hash power in North America. The company sees crypto mining as an "attractive business" that can increase its long-term profitability. Deutsche Telekom has also officially stated that it operates validators for various cryptocurrencies and has partnered with StakeWise on liquid ETH staking.
