Senator Lindsey Graham, a South Carolina Republican, was questioned by Fox News host Shannon Bream about the ongoing issues at the U.S.-Mexico border. Despite the increasing number of encounters with migrants, Republican lawmakers have struggled to pass tougher immigration laws. An attempt to pass an immigration reform bill in May failed, with almost every GOP senator voting against it. Graham criticized President Biden's immigration policies, claiming that he could fix the border without congressional action but chooses not to. The Biden administration has stood by its executive order, which aims to keep migrant families together through the "Parole in Place" program. This comes as Republicans continue to blame Biden's border policies for the uptick in migrants, while immigration remains a top issue ahead of the 2024 presidential election. This is the second immigration-related executive order issued by Biden in a matter of weeks.
