Florida Ranks Seventh in Nation for Economy, According to New Analysis

A new analysis from Wallet Hub has revealed that Florida has the seventh-best economy in the United States. The Sunshine State's economy is so robust that it would rank in the top 20 in the world if it were a country. However, while Florida ranks fourth in economic activity and second in economic health, it only ranks 31st for innovation potential, indicating room for improvement in areas such as high-tech industries, inventor patents per population, and entrepreneurial activity.

Other states with strong economies include Washington State, California, and Texas, with Washington State, Utah, and Massachusetts making up the top three. These states boast a strong job market, a booming tech industry, and some of the lowest unemployment rates in the country.

One bright spot for Florida is its start-up activity, as the state saw the most start-up activity compared to other states. Looking north of the state line, Georgia also ranks near the top of Wallet Hub's list, coming in at 14th place and ranking higher in innovation potential than Florida, but lower in economic activity and health.
