Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Hon. Antonio Tajani, opened the “National Conference for the creation of a cyber capacity building ecosystem” at the Farnesina. The event was attended by Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi and the Director General of the National Cybersecurity Agency Bruno Frattasi. Minister Tajani emphasized the growing importance of cyber security for the Italian state and the government's commitment to strengthening the synergy between public and private entities, academia, and study centers. Minister Piantedosi added that capacity building in the area of cyber security has become as essential as the military and economic strength of a state. The conference aimed to create an ecosystem capable of operating at an international level, promoting Italian ‘know-how’, deepening operational and geographical priorities, and developing public-private partnerships. Tajani also announced the creation of an ad hoc office to deal with issues related to cyberattacks and artificial intelligence, emphasizing the need to protect intellectual property and data. Today’s meeting marks an important step in the implementation of the national cyber security strategy, with Tajani highlighting the importance of public-private partnerships to support allied countries, such as Albania and the Balkan countries.
