The results of a recent survey conducted by the Digital Currency Group (DCG) and The Harris Poll indicate that voters’ positions on digital assets could play a significant role in the 2024 United States elections. The online poll, which surveyed 1,201 registered voters, found that more than two-thirds of respondents believe that "crypto is for people like them, and more equitable than the financial system." The survey also revealed that over 90% of voters in key swing states, including Michigan, Nevada, Ohio, Montana, Pennsylvania, and Arizona, intend to vote in the 2024 elections, suggesting that crypto could be a critical issue for candidates. The survey also found that 26% of voters are actively considering political candidates’ positions on digital assets when making their decisions. However, the survey also showed that 77% of Ohio voters expressed negative views on crypto. The results of the survey suggest that digital assets have emerged as a significant issue in the upcoming election, with three crypto-focused political action committees raising more than $100 million to support candidates from both parties. The control of the U.S. presidency, House of Representatives, and the Senate is up for grabs in 2024, making it clear that crypto is ‘top of mind for voters’ in US swing states.
