Fermanagh and Omagh District Council's Inward Investment and Economic Development Working Group met with interim Economy Minister, Deirdre Hargey MLA, to discuss the need for investment in the district. Councillor Thomas O'Reilly highlighted the economic imbalance and underinvestment in the area, as well as opportunities for growth and investment. The council emphasized the need for support in light of the proposed closure of the BT contact centre in Enniskillen, which would result in the loss of over 300 jobs. The interim Minister committed to working with the council to address these issues and develop a Sub Regional Investment Plan. The council will continue to lobby for investment to ensure the local economy thrives.
