Baseball tournaments in central North Carolina are bringing in millions of dollars this weekend, with the NCAA Division I Baseball Regionals in Raleigh and Chapel Hill, NCAA Division II Baseball Championships in Cary, and the high school championships in Holly Springs. The Greater Raleigh Sports Alliance expects the events to bring around $3.8 million for Wake County’s economy. Executive director Scott Dupree said the tournaments are opening the door to bring more events to the area, and there may be a need for more hotels in the coming years to prepare for future demand.
