Tianjin Hosts China-CELAC Private Sector Forum to Promote Investment in Latin America and the Caribbean

On May 9th, the China-CELAC Private Sector Forum was held in Tianjin, focusing on Chinese private enterprises' investment in Latin America and the Caribbean region. Vice Chairman of the China Federation of Industry and Commerce, Qiu Xiaoping, and Tianjin Municipal Committee Standing Committee Member and United Front Work Department Minister, Ji Guoqiang, attended and delivered speeches at the event. Also present were ambassadors from Colombia, Nicaragua, Honduras, and Chile, as well as other prominent figures from the private sector.

Tianjin, known for its active participation in friendly exchanges and economic cooperation with Latin American and Caribbean countries, has made significant contributions to the establishment of a China-Latin America community with a shared future. The forum aimed to promote the spirit of the new era of Tianjin merchants, deepen cooperation and exchanges with Latin American and Caribbean countries, and create a first-class market-oriented, law-based, and international business environment, striving to promote further progress in China-Latin America private economic cooperation.

Chinese private enterprises are seen as a driving force for promoting China-Latin America cooperation, and it is hoped that they will take this investment promotion conference as an opportunity to enhance their understanding of the investment environment in Latin America, actively invest in the region, and become promoters, practitioners, and beneficiaries of the upgrading of China-Latin America economic and trade cooperation.

At the forum, Tianjin aimed to conduct pragmatic cooperation, effectively connect with the development needs of Latin American countries, and promote the formation of a new pattern of mutually beneficial China-Latin America investment cooperation. The event was jointly organized by the China Federation of Industry and Commerce and the Tianjin Municipal People's Government, with more than 100 representatives from Latin American and Caribbean countries' embassies in China and foreign and Chinese companies attending the event in person.
