A report has surfaced that Joe Biden's doctor met with a leading Washington neurologist at the White House earlier this year. This comes after Biden ruled out taking an independent cognitive test and releasing its findings publicly, following his poor performance in a presidential TV debate with Donald Trump. The neurologist, Dr. Kevin Cannard, is a Parkinson's disease expert at Walter Reed medical center and has visited the White House eight times since August 2023. Biden has consistently rejected taking any cognitive test and has not received one during his three annual physical exams during his term in the White House. During an interview with ABC News, Biden was asked if he had taken specific tests for cognitive capability and replied, "No one said I had to … they said I’m good." Questions about Biden’s mental state continued when two radio hosts who interviewed him said that the Biden campaign had given them a list of approved questions. The White House has pushed back on the issue, accusing critics of being part of a partisan smear campaign. The report is certain to raise further questions about the 81-year-old president’s mental abilities.
