The 2024 Annual Theological Lecture at Queen’s University Belfast, titled ‘Artificial Intelligence: Religious Friend or Foe?’ is now available to watch on the Church of Ireland and Methodist Chaplaincy’s YouTube channel. The lecture, delivered by Professor Stephen Williams, explores the challenge of AI to our understanding of what it means to be human and its significance in the context of Western culture and the Church. The provocative title and complex issues discussed in the lecture aim to stimulate public theology on campus. The Church of Ireland has been organizing these annual lectures at Queen’s since 1957, with the support of the Board of Education.
